DIVISION 3 -PRESENTATIONS
SHOW TIME: Thursday, July 12, 1 p.m. Cody Courthouse.
PLEASE NOTE: The 4-H presentations Contest is not limited by
subject matter, i.e. topics can include but are not limited to
established 4-H projects.
Rules:
1. Presentations: Counties of less than 400 enrollment may present seven
presentations on any topic. Counties of more than 400 enrollment may
present 10 Senior presentations on
any topic. Top Intermediate Presenter (one) earns a trip to Wyoming
State Fair. Top Junior Presenters receive a Special
Award from 4-H Council.
2. Presentations are judged on knowledge of subject matter and
presentation impact. Senior presentations shall be at least 7 minutes,
but not longer than 15 minutes. Junior presentations shall be at least 5
minutes, but not longer than 7 minutes. You will be penalized for going
under or over the time limits. Time taken at the end for answering
questions will not be counted as time for the presentation.
3. The Presentation Contest emphasizes development of verbal
communication skills Presentation delivery may include, but is not
limited to demonstrations, interactive exhibits, skits, drams, public
speaking, visual aids, video and/or multi media displays. If the
presenter cannot attend state fair, a video presentation may be
submitted. The video will be judged on its ability to demonstrate
effective communication skills.
4. Participants may be enrolled in any 4-H project. A presenter cannot
compete in the state fair contest for two years in succession without a
change in subject matter. Proper food handling techniques are the
responsibility of the individual.
6. Contests at state fair are for Senior and Junior 4-H members. Juniors
are not eligible for Denver Roundup trips.
7. Presenters must provide their own audio visual equipment.
Class:
1. Junior (8 - 10 years old)
2. Intermediate (11 - 13 years old)
3. Seniors (14 - 19 years old)
DIVISION 75 - LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST
RULES:
1. All 4-H youth are eligible to compete in state judging contests as an
individual and/or team member.
2. Participants must be designated as eligible by their county in order
to compete. Counties are encouraged to enter as many youth as they deem
eligible.
3. Teams can be made up of 3 or 4 youth. Only the 3 highest scores
determine the team totals. Each county can enter 1 Junior team and 1
Senior team and as many individual members as they choose.
4. Junior teams consist of youth whose 4-H age is 13 years and younger
(Junior, intermediate age youth), while Senior teams consist of youth
whose 4-H age is 14 years and older.
5. Funding for teams and individual depends on funds available
through the 4-H Council.
Entry Note: Please enter each youth in only one class.

2. Senior Individual
3. Junior Team member
4. Intermediate Individual
5. Junior Individual
The 10 classes to be judged will be made up from the following:
a. Beef Cattle classes (market, breeding, and performance)
b. Sheep classes (market, breeding, and performance)
c. Swine classes (market, breeding, and performance)
If classes are not available as indicated above, the management is
authorized to use their best judgment to make the contest classes as
good as possible.
At least three sets of oral reasons will be given. Reasons will be given
on beef, sheep, and swine.
The State Fair reserves the right to select one animal but no more than
10 percent of the 4-H animals from a county in each kind of livestock
(beef, sheep, and swine) for use, if needed, in the state 4-H livestock
judging contest. All 4-H members bringing 4-H livestock exhibits to the
State Fair must agree to allow their animal or animals to be used for
this purpose, if needed.
DIVISION 76 - VEGETABLE JUDGING CONTEST
RULES:
1. All 4-H youth are eligible to compete in state judging contests
as an individual and/or team member.
2. Participants must be designated as eligible by their county in order

eligible.
