ENTRIES DUE NO LATER THAN: Friday, July 13, 2007
RELEASE TIME: Dogs must be removed from fairgrounds once judging is completed.
CHECK IN TIME: Monday, July 23, 2007 at 8:15 a.m.
SHOW TIME: Monday, July 23, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.

GENERAL RULES:
1. All dogs must be on six foot leash. Dogs must not be taken near stock barns.
2. All dogs entering the 4-H Dog Show must have current immunizations (rabies, distemper and parvo). Rabies shots must be renewed every third year and may only be given by an accredited veterinarian. (Shot records will be checked when you sign in at the show.)
3. A 4-H member may compete in only one obedience class per dog.
4. 4-H members carrying the dog project may use one co-owned dog. The 4-H member must have sole care, training, and showing of each project dog for the current 4-H year. (See the 4-H Policy Manual for definitions and details.)
5. A 4-H dog holding an obedience C.D. title or more advanced obedience title for a period of 9 months prior to 4-H Dog Show, must be entered in Graduate Novice A/B or a more advanced obedience class.
6. 4-H members with an obedience dog shown previously by another 4-H handler must show the dog by these guidelines:
a. Junior 4-H'ers may move back or down one level.
b. Senior 4-H'ers must show the dog at the highest level achieved previously.
7. Dog ID sheets must be completed and submitted to the extension office before May 1.
8. 4-H members are responsible for cleaning up after their dog.

DIVISION 14 -SHOWMANSHIP

RULES:

1. Males and females will be shown in the same class. Females in heat will be shown last and must be kept away from the obedience ring until call time.
2. Obedience classes will be judged on a total of 200 points.
3. An exhibitor must show his/her dog with a six-foot leash.
4. The first-year class is for beginning members only and is designed as a training class for members who do not feel competent to start in the On Leash Class. Members may compete in the first-year class only once, then must advance.
5. No dog can compete in any one class more than two years in a row. Members advance from On Leash A to Novice A or from On Leash B to Novice B. On Leash B is for the dog or exhibitor with previous experience in this class. An exhibitor who begins in the A group stays in the A group for each class with that dog. The same is true for the B group. Classes are listed in order of difficulty from easiest to most difficult, not show order. A dog having a qualifying score of 170 points at the county show must advance to the next higher level the following year.
6. Score Sheets: The Wyoming 4-H dog score sheets were designed for the benefit of 4-H members. They are intended as guides for judges. Judges use their discretion in deciding the seriousness of errors.
7. Complete details on the dog show may be found in the "4-H Small Animal Packet" available at your County Extension Office.
8. High in trial will be calculated on the basis of the raw score plus 5 additional points with each increase in level of difficulty.

Class:
1. FIRST YEAR (on leash): Heel, recall and about turn, figure eight, stand for examination, long sit (one minute), long down (one minute).
2. ON LEASH A: Same exercises as Class 1.
3. ON LEASH B: Same exercises as On Leash A.
4. NOVICE A (on and off leash): heel on leash, figure eight (done on leash), stand for examination, recall, heel off leash, long sit (one minute), long down (three minutes), (done off leash). For dogs that have not received a C.D. title.
5. NOVICE B (on and off leash): Same exercises as Novice A. For dogs having an AKC qualifying score (170) in AKC Novice.
6. GRADUATE NOVICE A: Heel free and figure eight, stand for examination off leash, drop on recall, long sit (one minute), long down (three minutes). Both sits and downs done with handler out of sight. For dogs that have received a C.D. title. Dogs must not have received C.D.X. (No title required).
7. GRADUATE NOVICE B: Same exercises as Graduate Novice A. For dogs having an AKC qualifying score (170) in AKC Graduate.
8. OPEN A: (Off leash) Heel free, and figure eight, drop on recall, retrieve on flat, retrieve over high jump (dog's height at withers), broad jump (2 x dog's height at withers), long sit (three minutes) and long down (five minutes). Both sits and downs done with handler out of sight. For dogs without C.D.X. (No title required.)
9. OPEN B: (Off leash) Same exercises as Open A. For dogs having an AKC qualifying score (170) in AKC Open.
10. UTILITY A: (Off leash) Signal exercise, scent discrimination, directed retrieve, directed jumping, group examination. For dogs that have received their C.D.X. title.
11. UTILITY B: (Off leash) Same exercise as Utility A. For dogs having an AKC qualifying score (170) in AKC Utility

13. Reserve Grand Champion

DIVISION 48 -CONFORMATION
1. Classes will be subdivided by breeds within a class, if numbers warrant. First place winners in classes 1 - 10 will compete for the Best in Show trophy in conformation.
2. Exhibitors entering more than one dog in any class may be assisted only by another 4-H member (from the same county), if the dogs must be shown at the same time.
3. Classes 1 - 8 will be judged according to AKC standards, but it is not necessary that dogs be registered; they must be purebred ( both animal parents).
4. Classes 9 and 10 will be judged according to the predominant breed characteristics.
