ARRIVAL NO LATER THAN: Monday, July 23, 2007 between 11 a.m. and 6
p.m. The Iron Kettle in Cody will accept needle work exhibits until 1
p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007.
RELEASE TIME: Sunday, July 29, 2007 between 5 and 6 p.m. Doors
will be locked at 6 p.m. You are responsible for exhibits left after
that time. Iron Kettle exhibits will be returned to Cody.
GENERAL RULES:
1. Pre entry due by July 13, 2007
2. Only one entry per class, per exhibitor.
3. ANY ARTICLE THAT HAS BEEN SHOWN AT A PREVIOUS PARK COUNTY FAIR IS NOT
ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY.
4. ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE THE WORK OF THE EXHIBITOR (EXCLUSIONS WILL BE
FOR GROUP QUILTS AND THE HEIRLOOM DIVISION.)
5. All crochet work, tatting and knitting should be blocked before
entering. Knots and loose threads should be trimmed.
6. All entries should be clean and completed.
7. All entries in Division 9 - Quilts must be the sole work of the
person who enters it, otherwise it must be entered in a group quilt.
This includes commercially quilted entries.

28. Quilt Challenge for the State Fair. The State Fair Quilting
Challenge is open to all quilt groups or interested individuals in
Wyoming. To be eligible for the cash awards and advance to the Wyoming
State Fair your quilt must be selected to represent your local quilt
shop and be properly entered in the State Fair. There may be one or more
quilts from a quilt shop which may be entered in the 2007 Wyoming State
Fair in Douglas, August 13-18. For exhibitor convenience, quilts may be
shipped to the State Fair prior to August 10 for entry.
1. Size: Should fit a full to Queen size bed, not to exceed 120x120
2. Theme: Quilt must reflect the Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo's
2007
theme - "Hooray! For the Red-White & Moo!"
3. Construction: Any technique or combination of techniques (Ex:
piecework, applique, or mixed media).
4. Quilting: Hand and/or machine.
5. Quilters: Quilt may be made by professionals or
non-professionals as
a group or guild project, or may be made by two or more
individuals,
members of a family, group of neighbors, special interest group, or
any
combination of interested quilters.
6. This project cannot be entered in any other needlework
class and
will only be eligible for the awards listed for the Theme Quilt
Challenge.
(Quilts shown in this class will not be considered for the Best of
Show or
People's Choice awards.)
7. Hanging Sleeve and Quilt Label: All quilts entered in this
contest
(Class: N-25-1) must have at least a 4" hanging sleeve attached to
the
top of the quilt with a quilt label securely attached to the back
stating:
a) the quilt shop (name and address) it represents,
b) name of the quilt,
c) name of each individual with addresses who helped
make the quilt.
8. A typed 4"X6" card must be attached with a written statement
about
the quilt. (Ex: techniques used in construction, inspiration for
the
designing of the quilt, or anything special or unique in the making
or
inspiration of the project.) Please list a contact person and their
phone
number.
9. The top five (5) quilts shown at the 2007 Wyoming State Fair
will
compete for $650 in cash awards and special rosettes; with the
represented quilt shops competing for $350.00 in cash awards and
special rosettes.
10. By entering quilt in this contest you are giving permission to
have
the quilt appear in special quilt shows throughout Wyoming
following
the 2006 Wyoming State Fair (for up to one year).
11. If any of the top five (5) quilt projects is designated as an
auction
quilt for the State Fair Quilt Auction, a premium of fifty dollars
will be
paid to the quilters of the quilt.
